Alien: How about a new film about a second mining ship the company sent to LV-426?

Imagine this. Along with the Nostromo, the Company dispatches a second ship and crew to LV-126. That crew, just as the Nostromo crew, is unaware of another ship being sent to LV-426.

It actually doesn’t need to be another mining ship. For instance, what if it is a crew of construction engineers and support personnel?

How might they approach and handle the problem differently from the Nostromo crew? There are other more aesthetic questions.

Should this new film rely primary on practical effects and real sets. Should it look as much as possible like a film made 40 years ago? Do we really need another Ash/Bishop/David (Hey, what happened to Charlie) in the story.

Do you think a film like this could appeal to a large audience? Or is the Alien franchise damaged goods?
