For anyone who has seen Sound of Voice, could you help me answer some questions in order to develop a general theory about the plot?

I meant to type Sound of My Voice! Darn it to heck

Here's some questions I've posited :

  1. Why did Abigail's father inject her foot with some substance? (I have seen one theory that suggests that this practice was a part of a routine that took place before sexually assaulting her. It is slightly odd that the directors felt called to show the viewer/audience that Abigail's father stayed on the bed with her and played on his computer after he injected her foot. It leads me to believe that something about the scenario was significant regardless of whether or not sexual assault was the issue).
  2. Why did Abigail write "terrorist" on another girl's schoolbag?
  3. Why did Abigail fell asleep on the ground outside the school?
  4. How did Klaus (the dude with the long gray hair and beard) know about the anchor tattoo (which shows that someone is a traveler) and support Maggie so much? Is an anchor symbolic of anything?
  5. How was time travel possible if technologies like MP3 were not available (which they talked about in one of the scenes)?
  6. Why was Maggie so vague about the events of the future and the reasons why she came back? Did she come back or was she sent back?
  7. In what ways did Maggie assume that she helped others "survive and thrive" by making the group open-minded? (She said that the ones that survive and thrive are okay with abandoning their fear by eating worms and abandoning forced logic by throwing up the apple). How did these meetings benefit the attendees aside from character development (i.e., their future?)
  8. What did Maggie assume to gain from meeting her mother as a child?
  9. Why did Maggie smoke and drink yet worry about the possible additives/pesticides/and careful treatment of the food she ate? For all I know, she might have been careful about the source and composition of her cigarettes and alcohol, however :)
  10. Was there any significance that Obama was talking about an oil issue in the background at the beginning of the movie? To quote the bits that are in the movie script online: "OBAMA [ON TV]: Eleven workers lost their lives. Seventeen others were injured. And soon, nearly a mile beneath the surface.." , "...of the ocean, oil began... ...spewing into the water. Your records? Because there's never been a leak..." , " ...this size at this depth... ...stopping it has tested the limits of human technology. That's why just after the rig sank, I assembled a team... ...of our nation's best scientists and engineers to tackle this challenge..."
  11. Why did Maggie wake up in present time upside down in a bathtub full of water? (Theory : the OA and Sound of My Voice have a similar plot crossover where when you die/commit suicide in the future, you can travel back to other times or dimensions. Perhaps Maggie took the body of someone who drowned themselves in a motel tub, motels being a common place for suicide since one's family does not have to clean up the scene afterward. The OA also contains many water scenes, nearly all of them foreshadowing future travesties).
  12. Was the narrator of the two main characters actually someone like Klaus or someone on the inside of the cult who were finding out information about the two before accepting them into the group? Perhaps this is why Maggie referred to the cult members as being "chosen"? I can at least imagine that some of the members were indeed handpicked since Maggie said that she knew Christine in 2054.

13) What did Joanne mean when she said: "But Maggie says when prices go up... ...people will start growing gardens in their garages. We'll be all right though. Maggie's taking us to a safe place." What place would be safe in order to avoid the future civil war?

14) Why did Joanne take Lorna to a gun range?

I'll update this in the morning with more questions, eventually leading to assimilated theories of mine.
