Recently while watching the movie the Ides of March I came upon a common Hollywood meta-trope. The main female actress, who appeared at the very least to be 28, revealed her age as 20 in the movie. It was laughable to look at this actress who looked the same age as Ryan gosling apparently cast in a role as a college sophomore. This, along with a few pieces of dialogue that just didn’t align with the reality of A. campaigning B. How age works and C. The passage of time that really just ruined the movie for me. The movie has so many little details that mixed up time that thinking about them more then two seconds just left me confused. Cue the “I’m 20” scene and I was about ready to cut off the film. Anyone else seen movies that just messed up the internal clock or casting enough that the movie became laughable?
