Someone hacked into my PayPal last week and bought $500+ worth of stuff from a website. I didn't have any money in my PayPal balance but had my bank account hooked up to my PayPal. It takes a few days to authorize transactions from my bank since it is a Credit Union. I called my bank and told them to decline any payments coming from PayPal. I report the transaction to PayPal and decide to let it be. The transaction on PayPal still shown as waiting for authorization. Yesterday i get an email from PayPal saying the website the person who hacked my account bought from refunded me the money he spent but the initial transaction was still awaiting authorization so i never paid the $500+. A few minutes later the transaction went from waiting for Authorization to Purchased. I check my bank account and nothing was paid and now i was just given $500+. I don't know if i should sit on the money and see if it dies down and take it or report it. Thoughts?
