My ten-year-old daughter is interested in film. Not just watching movies, but understanding narrative and the language of film. She's come to me and asked for recommendations, but I really don't know where to start. I'm not a film guy--I mean, I like films, but I just don't feel confident.
So I was hoping to get a discussion going about films that are good for kids, films that are neither patronizing nor traumatizing. Any ideas? What do you recommend I show my daughter next?
For example, she's seen, understood, and enjoyed films such as Spartacus and Some Like It Hot.
