[Discussion] Why Pixar's Coco is a bad movie. *possible spoilers*

I swear. Everything with Ernesto was so fucking bad.

At first I thought the twist would be that Ernesto is his real dad, but then he found that out at the first 15 minutes. I was glad they weren’t gonna do that twist at the end, but then they chose something much more predictable. Ernesto was evil the whole time! Who would’ve thunk that the main bad guy is gonna be a surprise villain? That’s so original for Pixar to do that, since they only did that before with toy story 2, toy story 3, and Wall-E. The person that the main character thought was so great, and admired it for years?

A famous person that inspired our main character to pursue his passion is really the villain of the story? Who could’ve seen that coming? Except for everyone that already saw Up. The movie’s plot and characters are Pixar at their most formulaic. I’m not a Pixar hater at all, I grew up (insert stuckmann joke here) with a lot of their movies, but out of their last 8 movies, 6 were mediocre at best, one was good/charming (coco) and only one came close to the creativity they once had. Not acting like every single one of their movies were flawless before, but they all felt extremely unique and had their own world. I was never excited for TS4, but when I heard they’re gonna make incredibles 2 i was excited. After seeing it, it was just another forgettable movie. And wow! Fucking fantastic scores too, don’t know why they died. As a musical-ish movie, coco’s actual score was super forgettable.
