What are some of your "flawed" masterpieces? These can be movies that aren't often considered masterpieces due to 1 or 2 flaws, but that overall, you still consider to be masterpieces. They usually are underrated and have a lower overall score on critic sites, but it is often because the critics may have missed the overall point or meaning or because of one technical flaw..I'm just looking for great movies to watch that might have flown under the radar on the critic or viewer scores.
Here are a few of mine, for example:
The Grey
Walk the Line
City of God
Collateral
Gravity
Zero Dark Thirty
Enemy of the State
Passion of the Christ
Point Break
Usual Suspects
Kill Bill Volume I
Alexander
Gran Torino
Quick and the Dead
Many of these are movies that might not have fully won over critics or viewers as a whole and maybe received harsh criticism for whatever reason, but they are masterpieces with flaws.
What other movies would you recommend that are masterpieces with flaws? Often times, the critic or viewer reviews on flawed masterpieces have to do with viewers not viewing the film or show in the right way or angle so they are missing out on a deeper meaning.
