I feel like Bambi is becoming a forgotten classic.

It's not a movie that lends itself to the "Disneyland" experience. You don't see actors in Bambi costumes running around Disney's parks the way you do Cinderella or Cpt. Hook.

It's a short movie, barely over an hour, with almost no human presence and it's most memorable moment is famous for traumatizing reasons.

The fact that it's paced like a movie from the 40s and not with the zipper style of more modern movies doesn't help its cause. It also lacks the catchy hooks that Menken and others brought to Disney.

I adore the movie, by the way. The backgrounds are works of art and the characters are delightful. I just worry it's a film that we'll forget about in another decade or so while movies like Sleeping Beauty (a great one too) linger on.
