Like does Disney get some money from those off of cable movie reruns, DVD sales, or streaming.
Also it might be a guess but aside from movies like Splash or Who Framed Roger Rabbit (which was going to be released under Disney but Eisner thought it was too adult for a disney film.) Do people remember movies from Touchstone let alone still talk about.
I don't think a lot people still remember movies like Turner and Hooch, Dead Poets Society, The Jerry Bruckheimer movies like Con Air and Armageddon, Bringing Down the House, etc the stuff i can think in the top of my head.
But with Fox they have a more bigger and historic movie library with stuff like the Shirley Temple movies, The Fly, The Sound of Music, Planet of the Apes, the first Star Wars movie, Alien, Big, Die Hard, Avatar, and the Fox Searchlight movies. So maybe that's why Disney wants Fox because of its iconic film library
