I see this being repeated all the time, but the only argument I've heard backing it up is by how it didn't win any Oscar (was nominated for one tho). I was 4 years old, so needless to say I have no anecdotal premiere experiences, but look at it's IMDB top 250 history https://250.took.nl/title/tt0137523
It was ranked at number 26 at the time it came out, and has been on the list ever since. Never at any point has it been ranked lower than 43rd. Surely this notion has to just be a myth, or am I missing something here?
