The title is pretty self-explanatory.
Here is mine: A friend of mine was the quiet type and super smart. He ran the college newspaper for several semesters and is a brilliant writer. One day, he disappeared from social media and disappeared into the darkness. I started digging to find out what had happened to him. Turns out he was facing charges and was later found guilty of possessing child porn. He had some 13k files that he acquired over the course of 2 years or so, while I knew him! His defense was that he tried to claim was autism (he is NOT autistic! And I was very angry to hear he even tried to claim that he is.) He is currently serving 5 years in federal prison and is a registered sex offender.
Not someone I associate anymore with, obviously!
