It's no secret that Infinity War and Endgame are far from standalone movies that can be watched without prior knowledge of the MCU. Not all of the MCU movies are 'required viewing' though, and telling someone that they need to go watch nearly 40 hours of superhero movies before they can make sense of Endgame is likely to put them off the idea completely.
The following list will catch you up on as much of the important back story as possible while minimizing the required watch time. Obviously they should be watched in the order they were came out (or in the slightly different true chronological order):
