I just rewatched this after 15 years and I appreciate it a lot more now. Just great under-the-radar performances all around from James Cosmo, Robert Carlyle, Mark Strong, and Sakae Kimura. It's just a really uplifting movie about forgiveness and universal morality despite how dark it is.
