Prometheus reflection

So I've been rewatching the entire Alien franchise and today I landed on Prometheus. A film that's notoriously divisive, but one that I believe is pretty good.

If we're solely grading it on its script that's one thing, but there are so many other aspects of the film that shine. I love the premise of exploring the space jockey. I think it's a great idea and boasts new themes for a different direction in the franchise. David is one of the best characters in the universe and Shaw is a fine addition as well. It's cinematography and Score are simply astounding and I feel that they're easily the highlights of the film. I also happen to find the central theme of creation to be fascinating.

It's weird knowing that this film is nearly 7 years old. I loved it on release, but some of it certainly has soured upon rewatching. Overall, I still like it and I think it's easily the third best film in the franchise. I'm really sad that they turned away from many of the ideas established here with Covenant.

This was my first, unaccompanied, R rated theater excursion so it will always have a place in my heart.

Anyways, how do you guys feel about the film?
