I personally don't understand the value of having reverence for dead bodies (their physical body, not the memory of the person). If we didn't waste so much money on burial and cremation, we could save enough money to end world hunger it seems like. Even if there is a biohazard/sanitation issue, I'd think it would still be a lot cheaper to set up a mass grave somewhere remote away from cities and water sources than to bury and cremate the dead. So why waste the money if the person doesn't really exist anymore?
