My personal faves whenever I fall into a pit of never-ending despair are John Carpenter's The Thing (for its bleak ending), Pink Floyd's The Wall (for its… everything), Akira (see: The Wall), THX 1138 (for its atmosphere), and the first Mad Max film (for its depressing world view). Any additional recommendations for my downward spiral? I’ve been getting sick of these 5 movies and I need new consumption.
