A Note to Humanity and a Deep Debt of Gratitude

First off, I want to thank everyone involved in this event. Not just the multitude involved in the production of Endgame itself, but every last person involved in the creation of every single one of the Marvel movies leading up to the truly spectacular culmination that I just witnessed. And further, every mind that both gave birth to, refined, and did the work of penning, inking, and coloring these characters into their original comic book format. The amount of inspiration and dedication they all exemplified is a true testament to both the creative spirit of man, as well as our ability to sacrifice our time and effort to painstakingly realize our visions. All our souls are heartened, and humbled by their works. We each and every one stand in awe of your talents, in every field that helped fully realize these indelible worlds and the larger than life characters that inhabit them.

From here, I want us all to consider the lives we have led, as well as all the lives that were led before ours, echoing al the way back to that first spark of consciousness that saw us diverging from a destiny of dim machinations, to a road leading toward awe and grandeur, the awareness of both ourselves and this cosmos. When you sit in these theaters and share the laughter and tears of those you are surrounded by, know that you are participating in a vast cosmic drama -- the infinitely impossible Universe coming to experience and know itself.

This is our mythology, a mythology built on the backs of various mythologies both remembered and untold, that has both informed and enriched our lives. It has been an inconceivably long process of give and take, a reciprocal arrangement between that which inspires, those who attempt to use it to inspire, and those of us whose hearts are open enough to be inspired.

Tonight I was truly inspired, and in my heart of hearts, deep down into my bones, I know all of you were too. I felt you in my ride home from a theater many miles from where I live, a place I went on a pilgrimage to experience something grand and spectacular with people who may have had the appearance of strangers, but who I know are in reality my family. We are all of us one when we breathe in a moment such this, a microcosm of all human endeavor that shakes the chain of being and reverberates through time to the hearts of all men and women through the ages.

Perhaps you will think me overselling this, but when you consider every word penned, in every word bubble drawn; from every line sketched and inked to every panel colored and shaded; I believe you may just come to understand the enormity of what all we have just experienced.

From paintings on cold stone walls etched by the dimmest flickerings of a fire that barely kept us warm -- with empty bellies and fear encroaching from all sides -- to vast mythologies and gods we made in the image of our own tempestuous emotions, as well as our higher natures, what we have just seen on these inconceivably miraculous screens is a condensed singularity of what it means to be a human being. Though many of us may be more comfortable than we have ever been, it is our duty to take the inspiration gleaned from masterpieces such us this and endeavor to embody the heroic spirit each one of these characters exemplifies. Singing through time in our collective unconscious, dancing up to the surface in our subconscious mind, in these archetypes we can all find both a calling and a home. I wish you all the best moving forward, and I thank you for being here with me.
