Are there any good westerns that deal with the minutiae of antiquated western life?

Just finished reading “Butchers Crossing” by John Williams, which was a really fantastic read. One of the most endearing aspects of the book for me was how lovingly Williams wrote out and described the moment to moment aspects of western life. Especially the tools, survival methods, game hunting strategies, etc that they employed in late-nineteenth century. Are there any movies that channel this same attention to detail? I guess western isn’t necessary, just movies set in the past that are detail oriented.

Thanks for any responses, sorry for being so vague.
