It’s my first semester of college and the housing department is threatening to kick me out by Monday because I owe an outstanding balance of $1,800. Mind you I’m at a university all the way across the country and need to fly home. My parents can’t simply pick me up. My federal loans covered about $16,000 and I’ve paid numerous other fees out of pocket. I work hard, I’m a straight A student and they’re making me vacate because I can’t pay $1,800. The housing department is student ran and completely unprofessional. I’ve talked to an innumerable amount of different people in the department and always get different answers. Yesterday they told me that I randomly need to pay $100 so that I can stay when they never informed me about that before. I’m emailing my professors and the academic dean to see if I can take finals early and submit the rest of my assignments over email. Has anyone every experienced this or have any advice?
