Before you start reading this i need to tell you that yes, i know i was stupid, yes, i should have seen it coming but i was very blind.
My ex boyfriend and I met when we were working in China, we moved in together and i got pregnant, the plan was for me to come home to Mexico and have the baby while he finished his masters degree. He is from a well off family back in Malawi but had completely cut him off so for the last months of his so called “study” i lent him 30 thousand dollars for him to finish school and to support himself there. I bought and cancelled his plane tickets to Mexico 4 times, there was always an excuse. He was having an affair and the money i was sending him for school he was spending it on partying, later i realised that he couldn’t leave China because his visa had expired and he had overstayed there for more than a year, that’s a serious offence im China, i paid the penalty fee and he had to stay like a week or so in a detention centre; while all this was happening he begged me not to tell anyone about what was happening. After he left the detention centre he had only a few days to leave China so i bought him tickets for Hong Kong where he would be able to apply for a Mexican visa...which was denied, so i bought the tickets for him to go back to Malawi. Now he denies everything, he says i am crazy and he owes me nothing, that he was the one supporting us and that i am ungrateful, he accepts the child is his but has never sent him any money and more importantly he only calls whenever he feels like it and that can be months apart . My boy is going to be three soon and before i didn’t want to do anything about the child support because my ex has everyone on his end convinced that i am crazy and he takes care of his child, so i didn’t want to add more drama in my life; but he is growing up and I’m a little over my head with all the expenses, i don’t have the big chinese paycheck anymore. I tried contacting the Malawian embassy but they never replied, i reached out to a lawyer in Malawi and they said they could help but as soon as i told them who he was they stopped replying. Any ideas?
