I always kept hearing about Seven, but I never really knew anything about it, other than the “what’s in the box” quote. But recently, I helped my grandparents move out, and I discovered an old Laserdisc player and over 100 movies on Laserdisc in their closet. I saw “Seven” and watched it on that. It was incredible. I don’t know what I was missing not watching it for so long. Everything about that movie just worked. The biblical imagery, the dark and grimy lighting, the constant rain, and the total dread that you feel during the final scene. Since I never had watched it, I always thought that it was only implied that the head of David’s wife was in the box. I was floored to find out that it actually was in the box, and I actually yelped and jumped out my chair when David shoots John. It’s one of the better movies I’ve seen, and I’m glad I did
