I’m going to start by saying Im a 21M who has never asked out a girl before, working in a pharmacy. Next to it is a shop where a girl started working for the past couple of weeks. Ever since she started working there, she had been coming to my pharmacy regularly, flirting and then walking out.( I’m not so good at picking up these flirting signs ,my staff told me she was.)
One time she was looking at a cheap perfume, about £4.50 and started asking weather we had a cosmetic item in stock. I told her no, and that we can order it in for her for collection the next day (hoping she would come back the next day, and I can try to talk to her again and possibly ask her out.)But a week passed by and she never came back for it.
So I thought I should make the first move and ask her out. So last Friday at lunch when I saw her standing outside of a restaurant nearby and her staff going in ,I quickly bought the item that she ordered, grabbed it and walked up to her (hoping to use it as a conversation starter/icebreaker.)And here’s how it went down:
HER: HEY! (Waving at me with a big smile on her face)
ME: Hey,I saw you walk past so I thought ,I should get you this item since getting it is like mining gold dust. (Handed her the item)
HER: oh no, how much did it cost you?,
ME: oh don’t worry
HER: No my friends are watching from the window.
(as she proceeds to open her purse and pay me )
ME:oh ok,I ws wondering how would you like to grab lunch on Monday, nothing fancy ,just McDonalds around the corner? [a line I rehearsed billion times in front of a mirror for this moment]
HER:yeah,sure
ME:OK,then can I get your number so I can contact you? [hoping to also find out her name this way]
(she proceeds to stare at me for few seconds in silence
Me:OK, see you there!
As I walked away and ran into my shop screaming in my head, wtf just happened.
NOTE: I DO NOT KNOW HERE NAME NOR NUMBER
And then when we were closing the shop, she walks past eating a strawberry, smilling at me,my staff turn to me again to tell me she was flirting with me.
I AM CONFUSED
