I know money is the simple answer. But guys like Nic Cage, John Cusack, Adrien Brody, John Malkovich, Brendan Frasier and others, they have so many random movies on their IMDB in the past eight years or so.
Is it a situation where these guys could get bigger roles but choose not too, maybe deciding they don't want to be in the lime light anymore, or is it really just a "pump out as many movies as I can and get a quick pay check " type thing?
I mean I look at Brody and Cage as guys who care a lot about their craft, and it just seems odd to me they do so many of these movies. I love them as actors.
Also, how much money do they really make from these roles? I know Cage was in a lot of debt and stuff that prompted him down this path, but can't it stop at some point? Not that I want it to some of his bizarre movies are a blast lol.
Occasionally they pop up in a more popular film, like Cage in Spider Verse this year, even though he didn't even know it was nominated for so many awards. And I mean Malkovich still is in quite a few popular movies (Bird Box)
I don't know. Like I kind of want that redemption story where one of these guys gets a really impactful role and like wins an Oscar or something. I know that doesn't really matter but I feel like they deserve the aging grace of Samuel Jackson but are just kind of there in the B movie background of the world.
