So I looked into it and yes all the facts are there that the hanging munchkin was a hoax and was edited over a bird but it seems there is plenty of proof of the hanging munchkin edit being in actual vhs copies released in the 80s meaning whoever remastered this movie to be rereleased at the time went through the trouble of putting that edit there to fool people into seeing a hanging body. Is there any information on who exactly went out of their way to do this while working on restoring a harmless children’s movie? Or is it lost information like the headroom incident?
