So I’m going to take a friend of mine to see Us tomorrow, and I realise that a lot of it is going to be hard to understand, culturally and verbally. They don’t speak English fluently (though their English is impressive), and have only been living in the States from El Salvador for 5 years. I advised they do research on, “I’ve Got Five On It,” and Hands Across America so as better to help them get those portions of the film, but I know the parts where Red is delivering dialogue is going to be especially tough to decode due to her accent.
Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed, or how I can best help them understand this truly brilliant film? It would be greatly appreciated.
Muchas Gracias!
