The film is eligible to be inducted in one of the most prestigious honors a film can get. We need enough emails to recommend it to them. What better way to celebrate one of the greatest animated films fo all time’s 20th anniversary!? The film Stephen Sondheim and Terry Gilliam praised to heaven and back? The film TIME called one of the best animated films ever?
Here’s what you need to do:
• You can recommend up to 50 films.
• The link above shows you what films are eligible to get a recommendation.
• To nominate, click this link: https://www.research.net/r/national-fim-registry-nomination-form
• Enter your email address. Below that are optional entries about where you found out about the LoC and why you think [blank] should be in it. Not necessary but they can help your case.
• Only pick the films on the list I provided. No film below a decade old is eligible. For example, The Social Network was 2010, so that’s a no-go. The Hurt Locker is 2009, so you can pick that.
• IMPORTANT!: If the film(s) you’re picking begin with “A” or “The”, you must list the actual title before those words. For example, The Dark Knight, would be Dark Knight, The. A Beautiful Mind would be Beautiful Mind, A. That is mandatory, do not forget.
• Don’t put in the director’s name or the star in the name boxes.
• Also don’t put in the year next to the title. Below the 50 boxes are the next 50 boxes for the year each film was released. For example: South Park Bigger, Longer, & Uncut would be in Film Box #1 while you would put in 1999 in Year Box #1.
This all may sound complicated but it’s not. You don’t even need to do all 50. Just as much as you can. I’m not saying there’s a guaranteed chance the film gets the honor but we need to try. Thank you for reading and let’s get South Park into the Library!
And don’t be afraid to ask any question to me.
Also eligible are Cannibal: The Musical, Team America: World Police, and BASEketball (of all things). None of them have as much of a chance but if you wanna try, go ahead.
