I was thinking about this today. Based on the tone and visuals of Watchmen and Batman V Superman, I think Zack might be the perfect person to direct a Spawn movie.
Zack has stated that he doesn't like sunny comics. But Spawn isn't that kind of comic. It is dark. It is full of death. The protagonist is more antihero than hero. The story has deep and emotionally painful, which I think makes it perfect for Zack to direct.
I really like Watchmen. I hated the story to BvS but I thoroughly enjoyed the visuals. And when watching the Batman intro scene I immediately thought, SPAWN!!!
Todd McFarland would keep the story in line and Zack would help make a perfect world for this character.
