I mean, as someone who enjoys The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King to this day, I always get confused by people saying "LotR movies are dated" on various websites like Rebbit, IGN, Gamespot, etc. I watch them every once a year and I still do not have a problem or issue with any of the three movies and they're all holds up very, very well. The first two movies won some Academy Awards while the third swept the awards with 11, including Best Picture, and is often considered the greatest film (Return of the King, that is) ever made. The film-making in all three movies was just incredible and Peter Jackson earned a gem for the job. Practical effects and CGI were excellent as well. What make you feel like these movies are dated/outdated or don't hold up? Maybe because today's technology changed your opinion or mind for the worse? I have never found the answers and it is still confuse me.
