Recently I watched The Silence on Netflix. And it was a not so scary horror movie that took itself way too seriously. After the movie, I thought and I realized the movie should have been a horror comedy actually.
The creatures actually lend themselves towards horror-comedy, because they aren’t large like Godzilla or small like The Birds. They’re in-between like the Gremlins. Also so many scenes in the movie are so unintentionally funny (such as the scene where the lead girl FaceTimes her crush and he’s all bloodied up, the scene with Glenn stuck in the car, and any of the Vesp attacks). With scenes like this, the movie should have just went full horror comedy route, it would have been so much better.
Which movie would have benefited from a different tone?
