I just rewatched Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 after a very long time and I gotta say they're pretty good. Cheesy yes but good. What I think makes them so good is they have really good villains. Both Doc Oc and the Green Goblin are way better villains than in recent movies I've seen. I think they're so great because their motivations are heroic from their perspective. Doc Oc wants to make fusion energy to save the world after his wife's death which is honestly a pretty commendable pursuit, and the Green Goblin is there to save Norman's company, a company he built from the ground up. He even gave Spider-Man an out.
The movies feel very early 2000s-ish, so that hasn't aged well. However, the stories are pretty compelling. Thoughts?
