Hi guys and gals,
I've been trying to find these two movies for years but in vain. I remember the general plot lines. Really appreciate your help.
- Scifi: The movie is about extraterrestrial living form coming to Earth. The life form developed gradually in an underground area/cave. A group of students and a teacher/professor ventured the area. Initially, they were greeted with a ground surface covered in mist and slimy moving creatures. When the teacher/professor came back, life had thrived and developed drastically. Later on, extraterrestrial creatures started coming/flying out of the area, only to suffocate and die all over the place. Then they evolved to adapt to the oxygen level and started swarming. The military was called in to use Napalm the first infested area. However, the teacher/professor accidentally found out the fire aided drastically to the development of the life form (The scene here is that his colleague lit a match to light his cigarette, then tossed the burning match to the petri dish containing a tiny spec of the extraterrestrial life form. This caused an explosion, and the life form grew all over the surrounding area.) The teacher/professor also found out how to kill the life form, by using a lot of shampoo. He then drove a firetruck with his colleague around the town, asking for shampoo, then headed towards the first infested area, only to find Napalm had already turn it into a massive moving life form. He and his colleague then drove the firetruck underneath the creature, stuck the hose into its opening, and pumped the shampoo. That killed the life form.
2) Rom Com: The movie is about a guy who works at a hotel (I'm not sure how to address him. His job is to take care of what his customers want. He is smart, knows how to get good tickets to games, very good at Maths. There was one scene showing how thoughtful he is: A successful businessman took his wife to the hotel. The wife is mad at him because he did not prepare anything for their trip. This guy then stepped in, saying that the husband had already booked a spa spot for her, then dinner or something. This makes the wife really happy and called her husban, "Oh, Sparky". As the wife walks away, the husband looks at the guy and said, "She hasn't called me Sparky in a long time". Then the husband said something along the line of, "I don't know how this works, but here, thank you for saving me back then." The hotel guy refuses, saying something along the line of, "Please save this and add it all up. I may ask a huge favor from you one day.")
Then lead actress is a girl dating a rich man, whom the hotel guy serves as well. The hotel guy and the girl developed a crush for each other, which they kept to themselves. The hotel guy took the girl to a riverside place, then asked what the girl sees. She said she didn't see anything. Then the guy placed a piece of glass on a stand nearby, showing the girl his dream: his own hotel by the river. The hotel guys is thinking of asking for help from the rich man the girl is dating.
Later on, the hotel guy found out the rich man didn't really love the girl. The girl has already left the hotel. The hotel guy then asked one of his customers, an owner of a truck company, to cause traffic so that he can catch up to her. Eventually, the hotel guy saw the girl in a cab across the street. He shouted out to her, saying that the rich man does not really love her. The girl, falling for him, saying that the rich man was trying to steal the hotel guy's dream by buying out the land to build his own hotel. They ended up together.
The hotel guy thought he lost his chance for the dream. However, one of his colleagues, a really old man, accidentally gave his proposal of his dream to Sparky, the successful businessman the hotel guy helped. This businessman then offered to help the hotel guy with his dream.
Edit: Thank you so much guys! I watched these two movies with subtitles because I didn't speak English back then. I really enjoyed them but have not known whom to ask about them until now. You guys really made my day!
