First of all, sorry for the readability of the post, I'm not a native English speaker. I watched this movie when I was a kid and it never left my mind. It was clearly a survival film: the protagonists find themselves lost in the desert after a plane wreck. They have with them a plentiful of gallons of water and food scavenged from the plane. They build a base (during the scene some music plays) and eventually one of the survivors (a nerdy guy) reveals that he's an engineer of some sorts and can build planes, and so they start building with him as the leader of the project. After a while, they found that an unusual amount of water was missing and they try to find a culprit. The plane guy confesses saying that he kept working at night and so drank more water than the other survivors. After the plane is finished, the plane guy reveals that he's not actually an engineer but a plane hobbyist who builds model planes. He justifies himself by saying that the structure of a model plane is similar to a real one. The plane that they built works but they get shot at by some people (military??). After some scenes with explosions, they escape successfully.
