When the young daughter of a crazed scientist brings a mysterious object back to the lab, a giant monster appears to wreck the city... Our only hope is apparently the scientist's assistant who the scientist injects with mystery magic go-go juice number five, causing the boy to grow in to a giant muscular Japanese wrestler... oh yeah
Where to begin? I watched Executive Koala and The World Sinks Except Japan, both from the same filmmaker, and I was less than impressed; so going into it I was hesitant but I give every film it's fair shot... the result? I freaking loved it! The comedy is very slapstick/Mel Brooks with a proper mix of high brow and toilet humor; a difficult combination to say the least... but they pull it off and they don't let up from minute one to minute done... Every single character is so unique and bizarre; even the sheepish daughter of the scientist, who cross dresses as Sailor Moon, is the star of her own story... The monster design isn't the best I have ever seen but I believe they were doing it on purpose as the film repeatedly calls out certain faults and tropes... it works, it works far better than I could ever imagine, and I can imagine quite a bit... The giant fighting is very Saturday Night Wrestling but that would not surprise anyone who recognizes our big man as a Japanese wrestler...
I was beyond pleased with what I saw and would highly recommend that you buy this...
