Close to the beginning of the movie Rick says something along the lines of "one pool party and i'll be making movies with Roman Polanski". Later during the climax of the movie Rick roasts one of the Manson girls in his pool with the flamethrower, not exactly a traditional "pool party" but it is something that could be seen as twisted version on this. After Cliff leaves in the ambulance Jay talks to Rick about what had happened (the murders) and invites him over to meet Sharon and more than likely Polanski. Am i crazy for thinking that the roasting of the Manson girl is the pool party that led to Rick meeting Polanski?
