So at the end of John Wick 3, it is heavily implied that John and the Bowery King will be taking on the High Table.
This had me thinking about what they could do with the next film. Perhaps the High Table has their most elite assassins/agents reserved for their own protection. Maybe they could place John in situations in which he has to contend with different specialists. For example, a marksman, a swordsman, and some hand-to-hand specialists.
Here's who I'd love to see:
Iko Uwais - The Raid, The Night Comes for Us, Mile 22
- Wouldn't be the first time they brought in actors from The Raid films to fight John. The two guys he fought before Zero at the end of JW3 were both villains in the original Raid movies (Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman).
- Uwais also coordinates his own fight scenes with his stunt crew so it would be great to see his experience alongside the directors' and a fight between him and Keanu would be awesome to watch. It would test John Wicks reflexes against a fast, agile opponent.
- If you're still not convinced, watch this fight scene from The Raid 2.
Frank Grillo - The Purge: Anarchy, Captain America: Civil War, Kingdom (TV Series)
- Grillo is quite an experienced mixed martial artist in real life, so a fight between his character and John Wick would mix a lot of striking and ground game and would be quite different from Uwais.
- I also feel like he has very few on-screen appearances that do him justice. There isn't really a definitive "Frank Grillo fight scene" and an appearance in JW4 would be amazing to watch.
- Admittedly I'm a little biased because I met him at a Comic-Con event for Captain America Winter Soldier and he seemed like the coolest, most humble dude (that could kick anyone's ass) ever.
Hiroyuki Sanada - The Last Samurai, The Wolverine, Rush Hour 3
- This one is probably a little too out there but imagine Sanada crossing blades with Keanu Reeves.
- I know we just had a sword fight with Zero in JW3 but he was very eccentric and excited to be there; imagine a much more serious, no-nonsense opponent. An aging samurai-like warrior with several years (and several kills) under his belt. That would make for an awesome fight.
I'm not sure who I'd cast as the marksman character. Perhaps Ryan Phillippe or Josh Stewart from the "Shooter" TV Series. Maybe you guys have better ideas.
Obviously, this is all just a wishlist. Who would you like to see?
