So I'm currently working on a duet version of hallelujah for french horns. So I wrote it out then showed it to my band director, and he basically said it was shit so he gave me the chords and said ok you can only use the notes in this chord. But I'm running into a problem that when I'm using the chords and doing what my band director told me to do it sounds bad and I'm losing the note patterns so its sounding less and less like hallelujah and more like something vaguely similar to it. So the question is how can I use the chords but still make it sound like hallelujah?
