So with the introduction of Disney+ in the UK I’ve decided to watch all the Star Wars films.
Once I had finished the solid and underrated Prequel Trilogy I was tempted to skip Solo, I had dreaded watching this film throughout Episodes I, II and III; however, I went through with it and was so pleasantly surprised to be watching perhaps my second favourite Star Wars film of all time after Empire.
This film was an Ode to Solo and told the story all of his original trilogy anecdotes with flair and hilarity. I understand the pacing issues and how people are upset with all of these events happening in one story, but the amazing casting; acting; script; story; and how the film looked, made this perhaps the most Star Warsy film to date.
But I don’t know, maybe it’s all the ‘Star Wars’ effect. I’m just doing this as a way of trying to understand why it was such a box office flop and was critically panned.
Solo is amazing!
