I liked this movie a lot in middle school. At 25 years old now, the movie itself seems a bit more underwritten but entertaining enough. It captures a revolutionary spirit fine even though the plot seems more nonsensical than it used to.
What struck me was how real the world it creates feels. A big part of the plot involves a virus and shows headlines like, “80,000 Dead.” There’s also shots of riots and the government violently putting down protests. It’s feels strange that a movie that seemed so fictional years ago is not that crazy these days.
