Watched it based on some positive reviews, and loved it much more than I thought I would. It starts out as a character case study, then moves into drama, before winding up in prog ex-machina. The amazing part is, it all feels like a natural progression.
I love the background commercials they create. Very reminiscent of the commercials in The Big Short, where they’re for seemingly normal items, it are deeply unsettling the same time. The FaceBook ads scenes are particularly great.
Jesse Eisenberg is great by himself, but the entire cast is perfect. Justin Timberlake is notable as an amoral business owner, who has completely perverted the .com economy system.
Long story short, highly recommended.
