Okay so after that horrible tragedy I’ve been thinking about it quite a lot and have a few questions for the more knowledgeable people of reddit
Regarding the explosion/sound wave
Sound wave,
What, typically is the best way to defend yourself from such a phenomenon excluding the obvious distance yourself as much as possible?
If anyone was in the water/ under the water are they any safer due to the fact that sound has difficulty travelling in water ?
How close to the sound wave would one have to be typically to suffer serious bodily damage ?
Also considering the blast was fuelled by ammonium nitrate, would the surrounding atmosphere/air be toxic in any way due to the blast and sound wave essentially spreading the chemical?
Just some thoughts that have been racking my brain since I saw those videos earlier today.
