There can be two 10/10 films from the same time, but sometimes one can be dated, and the other still extremely watchable nowadays.
I was watching sunset boulevard today, and the script has barely aged a day. Set it in the modern day, and revamp the visuals and it would probably be a best picture contender.
The godfather is also very similar. Still exhilarating and tightly written.
2001, and apocalypse now also come to mind, with basically no glaring issues.
