I haven’t read the book but just recently watched the movie from the 80s as I’m trying to binge all of his adaptations. The question I have is does the book give any insight as to why, after the doctor kills the evil cat and his evil son, he thinks it would be a great idea to bury his dead wife there? Is there any inner dialogue or was this a poor adaptation that got a lot wrong?
