Hello!
I am a fairly new teacher and this year I was tasked with teaching 6th grade Global history. Our middle school history teacher retired thanks to Covid and I have no idea what I’m doing.
I thought it would be cool to show the kids full-fledged films instead of constant documentaries. Are there any out there that are school appropriate and not completely outrageous?
Any suggestions would be great!
These are the topics we cover:
• Early people - Nomads • The Fertile Crescent • The Nile River Valley • The Indus River Valley • The Huang He Valley • Ancient Greece • Ancient Rome • The Ancient Americas (Mayans, Olmec, Hohokam, Anasazi) • Arabia (year 500-1200) • Early African Civilizations • Early Europe • New Empires of Asia (year 1000 to 1650) • New Empires in the Americas (Incan and Aztec) • Expansion era (Europe conquering) •”Revoluntion Era” (America’s Independence, Modern Japan, Industrial Revolution) • Troubles War Times (WWI WWII Cold war)
