I’m an average consumer and I don’t wish to get in contact with too many people, so I decided to ordered a trash bin online to be picked up at my local Target, so I can just go-in-and-out with my
On the Target app, it says item in stock and pick-up ready in 2 hours. I went ahead and placed the order and 3 and half hours passed by, my order still says Processing.
I finally gave up waiting and decided to go into the store to check with the employee, and they told me I can’t pick it up yet because it hasn’t been processed (the store isn’t busy at all) and they can’t just go fetch the trash bin off the shelf even though it’s in stock and right there...and I want to I can cancel the online order and just buy in store.
I later cancelled the pick up order and grab the trash bin and waited in line for cashier....not my original plan.
So I’m just curious does Target online pick-up go through a completely different inventory system or must be from a separate allocation, so that the item may not be just handed to the customer even tho it’s there on the shelf?
