If the couple is supposed to be rich enough to be in real estate and have a hoard of gold, why does their house look like like shit? I legitimately can't figure it out. Did I miss something?
I understand that it's symbolic to a point, but it seems so contradictory to the money motive. I also get that it's a kind of horror movies, so setting and imagery follows, but yeah.
