The west has had those 4 taste groups (sweet/sour/salt/bitter) for ages, but 'recently' scientists agree the Asian umami taste (savoury, like: soy sauce, meats, mushrooms, etc.) has its own associated taste buds. Who knows, maybe in 100 years people will describe someone as umami as cute too, or maybe kind, wholesome, or cosy? idk that seems to fit.
