If you're going to call it Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory that means you're implicitly referencing the Gene Wilder movie and in that movie iirc it's made explicitly clear even the bad kids didn't die (they were rescued but more-than-metaphorically forever changed by the experience (Veruca's the only one that didn't get a physical change) as Violet still had blue skin, Augustus was thinner (though not so-thin-activists-would-freak-out-if-this-was-made-today-because-fat-erasure) and Mike was taller). Can't have a battle royale (which even if they had died this kinda wasn't as their "sticky ends" weren't caused by each other but by a combination of Wonka's shenanigans and their own hubris) without death
