Back in the days you had to pay to text!
And there was a word limit.
If you want over the word limit it would become a multimedia message.
a whopping 10-20pence for a text A whopping 50pence for a multimedia message, Mmm
Also most people were on payg and didn't top up their phone or buy a plan often enough to allow continuous nonstop texting.
Texting and short hand became the norm of communication and it was used online and through other apps that evolved with the phone.
People were able to capitalise some letters and make their own abbreviations to communicate faster and better informally.
It's quiet sad thinking back to how limited we were yet how excited we were to text our friends when we got home from school.
I am only in my mid 20s and it seems like ancient memories
Okay G2g
