Think about it. Going all the way back in time to the first single celled organism, humans ate raw flesh just like every other animal. Then something game changing in our evolutionary past happened, we learned how to tame fire. Shortly after, some psycho figured out that fire hurts and has the bright idea to pit his food in it (probably alive because humans are curious creatures). This person definitely didn't know about the nutritional benefits from cooking your food, or that fire kills bacteria. He was just throwing in rabbits because he was bored, then ate the poor thing.
