Based on our current population, the highest chance of being born in human history may be right now. Assuming we continue on our trajectory of growth including become interplanetary species, the population size in the future should be drastically higher. Even if we don't grow, then odds are we should be born in one of the billion plus years in the future. Does this mean our species will inevitably fail and population will dramatically drop in the future? Or are we just incredibly lucky to be born - not just in general, but in this era.
Some #'s based on estimates
- total ever born 108 billion
- currently alive 8 billion
About a 13% chance to be born in this era from human history to now.
